Christmas & New Years

We had our own precious Christmas time, complete with the right combination of rest & fellowship.

K-rin's archie girlfriends &their spouses came over for a full Christmas Eve dinner. We ate too much, laughed too much, and stayed up way too long!! It was great seeing my(K) girls, L.C. & Gibby (which isn't a Gibby anymore!!)We talked about working up a trip to Rome in a few years... yep, We are too practical to think in any smaller terms.

David got K-rin a "Dewalt drill".....yep, jealous much?! D also gifted a cast-iron set of cookware for camping....and some truly manly movies for stocking stuffers. K has to admit, she loved every single item!!!K-rin got Day-vid a weather station, with a ton of gismos-that has an interior monitor that posts all the readings from said gismos. Yep, that about as technical as I (K) get with D's meteorological instrumentation!!

We have a wall dedicated for a monumentous collage of Christmas cards (I hate to take them down). Thanks to all who thought of us during this wonderful season!!

As for church, we had a month of services that were truly blessed. Our praise band has gotten smaller, but the focus has gotten clearer. We are blessed to have a wonderful worship leader that is truly trying to seek the Lord in all that we do.

K's mom came last weekend from New Mexico!! It was so nice to have her around. She was hungry for some fish!! We went to a "middle-of-nowhere" fish house one night....then sushi the next!! We are all fished out! Her exact words, "I want some fried fish, they can't make a decent fish in New Mexico, but they can make pinto beans that you could swallow your tongue on!!" Gotta love Momma!

As for New Years, we went to see the Trans Siberian Orchestra in Birmingham. It was a spectacular show. For a nice surprise, after their set & midnight balloon & ticker-tape explosion...... they brought in a special guitarist & frontman, none other than the one & only Tommy Shaw (from Styx). He hasn't lost his touch....his voice was still clear as a bell....and his fingers were nimble as ever. It was a full on rock-concert after that, with him playing some of his famous "Grand Illusion" numbers. Yeah, we got our faces rocked off!! We could do that every year!

Merry Christmas and Happy 2008 to you, too! Laura and I went to church together and hung out in the same circle all throughout high school. It is indeed a small world. :)

Hope all is well with you! You're going to have to teach me a thing or two on blogger to help me get my blog as good looking as yours. :)
