First Piggy Back Ride

Last night Drew ran up to me as I was sitting on the floor & gave me a big hug from behind. I loved, loved, loved it!! He did it several times & had such a great grip that I gave him his first piggy back ride. He LOVED it!! All smiles & giggles!!

Every stage becomes my favorite, if that's possible!!

Drew's favorite animal is............

If you are wondering.... dog, cat, fish, tiger.....you would be wrong.
Drew's favorite animal is a GIRAFFE.
There is a picture that a friend of mine gave me for a baby shower gift. On it, is a depiction of a giraffe. Drew's Aunt Kelly (David's sister) also gave Drew a giant (at least to Drew)stuffed giraffe when he was born. Finally, a dear friend of ours made a quilt especially for Drew a whole jungle full of animals...including said giraffe.

I remember when he put the two together. "This is a giraffe & that is a giraffe." Now granted, he can't really say giraffe (he does try though)....but he loves to go back & forth pointing between the two. If you ask him where the giraffe is, he points to the picture then the stuffed giraffe. He will even point out the giraffes that are on his quilt.


His giraffe is the perfect fit for a good round of hugs. Plus, he loves to pull the giraffe around the house with him. It's the cutest thing EVER! (I think I say that to everything that Drew does).


Anyway, I have to share these little tidbits before I forget them. Each stage flies by so quickly!! I just want to hold on to every second & savor it.

I Don't Need No Rocking Chair

..........but Drew sure does love one!!

Drew loves to rock on his rocking horse. However, he loves climbing up in the rocking chair & rocking like Momma & Daddy. He's growing up way too fast. I barely see my little baby any more.


I keep falling more & more in love with this little person. How could you not?!

[fyi- david will never get the country music reference that this blog is titled after...sad, so sad]

Finally a Family Nite

After 2 solid months of 60+hour weeks, I (kk) got home a little after 5pm!! It was such a fun filled evening of playing & eating with my house full of boys.

We played with blocks, or as Drew says "bwocks"!! He says it like he's an evil genius (with a growl & half-laugh). We all have a great time. We have made a habit of picking up the blocks & putting them back in the plastic zipped bag that they came in. Drew loves to put them in the bag too!! Except he loves picking up the filled bag & pouring them out again. He just giggles at it!!

Drew is also learning to feed himself using utensils. Tonight's fare was spaghetti stars & green beans. Let's suffice it to say.....his entire face enjoyed it :)

David & I had my homemade mexican cornbread & butterbeans (courtesy my grandfather's garden). It is so good, we have to keep from overeating! Sometimes, nothing beats a good ol' simple meal.

In fact, David is sitting right beside me as I type. I asked if he wanted to add anything....... his input for the blog was for me to share that "It's Gonna Rain This Weekend!" (This he says as he's glued to his ipod watching the live radar stream).
