Eye Issues

If you have noticed that the eye monster has returned, it has indeed. We struggled with test after test.... breakout after breakout for over 3 months. After the last biospy, they determined that Drew's breakouts were being caused by a virus, the same virus as a simple coldsore. He just happens to have them around his right eye. So, the doctor gave us a prescription for an oral medication to suppress the virus. If we are able to suppress the virus for a year, then the reoccurance should be rare. He had outbreaks for well over 3 months solid...one after another...at one point his eye was almost completely swollen shut. However, the medicine seemed to work. For 6 weeks he has not had an outbreak... Until this weekend. So, we were back to the doctor's. Our dosage has been upped....and hopefully, we're on the mend. So, we ask for prayer that this dosage can suppress the virus for a full year.

Ironically, we're having Drew's first professional photos done on Saturday. We never got around to it before now. After not working for 6 months (getting to be a stay-at-home-mom..totally worth it) .....the money went to other things. We have been really excited about this session with a great photog....just hope he can do some photoshop magic!!

8 Month Wrap-Up & 9 Month Starter

Drew is into his 9th month (I can't believe it)......but I realized I needed to update the previous month!!

8 Month Wrap-Up
Drew goes everywhere!
He played for the first time at the softplace in the mall.
Drew discovered how much he liked Daddy's guitar.
He got a visit from Grandma & Grandpa Keeney.
Started pulling up on objects and standing up.
He attempted his first step (not successfully).
Easily drinks his own bottle without help.
Learned the meaning of "No"
Got to go visit Great Mammaw & Pappaw Blanton.


9 Month Start-Up
He not only can he go fast, he follows you. He does not like to be left. So, he usually follows you....crying or fussing.
His virus has come back again. It had not broken out for over a month. It broke out with an hour last night.
His first upper tooth came in (last week)!! [A total of 3 now].
He is cutting his 2nd upper tooth now!! Yay!!
I stopped nursing last weekend totally. It was so sad for me (kk).
Drew can now stand up with assistance or pulling up.
Went to the zoo for the first time.
Got a visit from Pappaw Cauthen.
Got to go visit Great Mammaw Cauthen.

Geoscience Department - Picnic

The MSU Geoscience Dept had a picnic at Dr. Wax's house in Starkvegas last night. Here are a few pics to show how much fun Drew had playing (assisted of course) on the jungle gym equipment.
